Toolbelt Theory
I chose to represent my tool belt with a house symbol out of hands. The idea being that multiple tools are needed to build a house. I tried to only use free tools, however I did include Boardmaker. The reason being it show cases the potential of visuals, and individuals can then look for a free tool that meets their specific need. Kurzweil and Clicker 6 provide multiple affordances for individuals, teachers and classes, however the school/division must make a commitment to using them due to their cost. Thus, I wanted to focus on tools that were mostly free.
The foundation is made out of some basic tools I believe help all students access content and educational materials. The door represents Multiple Means of Engagement, essentially inviting students into the learning. The first floor is Multiple Means of Representation which ensure students can understand and interact with content. The second floor/ceiling is made up of Multiple Means of Action and Expression enabling students to demonstrate their learning with their style preference.
